Positive: Fantastic stay in a traditional ryokan. The Japanese are not kind on this property on their websites, but I guarantee it's more than worth your money, and the trip to get there. I'd stay there again in a different season.

Negative: Our experience was almost flawless. Perhaps meal service occasionally felt a bit rushed, but it's petty details.

Positive: They did an amazing job creating a relaxing environment with the in room onsen and the addition onsen areas. The meals were amazing and it was by far the best food of our entire 16 day trip in Japan

Negative: The food was amazing and the quantities of the multi course meals was almost too much. We didn’t want the food to go to waste so every meal we didn’t our best.

Positive: Absolutely incredible accommodation! The highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the best service we have ever encountered. Most of the staff spoke great English. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and a tasteful mix of modern and traditional Japanese styles. The hot spring in our room was so luxurious, but the private onsens were incredible. There are two, and they do not need to be reserved. The tablet provided in our room told us if they were occupied which made it easy. The views from these are spectacular, overlooking the mountains and a stream. Dinner and breakfast were made using local ingredients and were delicious. We had personal service during both meals and every item was described very thoroughly.

Negative: Everything was great! The private onsens were busy right before dinnertime, but we went early enough that it wasn't an issue!
