Positive: So after reading so many reviews I was so excited, I fed up with a really mixed experience: so I’m between a 7 and 8 and this should have been a 10! First of all the great stuff: Room - we had the hillside pool suite, just wow, I’ve stayed in 1000’s hotel and def in top 5 rooms stayed in! The beach bar is lovely and staff amazing, cocktails are lush. Some of the staff are a 10/10 - our lady who did room turndown was a ten, and lady who went through stuff with us. And guys who delivered food to room Breakfast in morning to room was awesome and the lady on that morning was amazing.

Negative: So here’s the parts that let it down as some areas were a 10 plus, then other areas a 3/4, so I’m between a 7/8 overall: First of all welcome was mixed, no welcome drink, not talking us through resort / entertainment etc, so we weren’t even aware there was a band on in evening. Then my partner sat down for lunch, were ignored while other older couples were served, I went up to ask for a menu and they apologised as they thought we were management / staff, my partner is from the Caribbean so that made him feel weird, not really acceptable to make that presumption. Got to room was just like wow, had called down for a bottle rose, 45 minutes later hadn’t come so called down, lady was so rude, I asked if was on its way, said we have the request, asked if knew how long would be, said no and basically hung up on me, I mean it wasn’t like I was making a crazy request. Similar when called back to ask for some food a couple hrs later, again very rude, I mean if I was asking for something crazy, but just standard stuff! I’d also made a request as partners birthday, and said when I got there would run through what I’d like, nothing was done until I. Mentioned it again at 9pm and thought some chocolates up! I’ve stayed at hotels for 500 a night and gone out way! Just such a mixed stay, for £2k a night the above just isn’t acceptable! Really not sure of would stay again!

Positive: Hermitage Bay was exactly what my wife and I were looking for in a vacation. This is a very quiet, private resort. We were looking for solitude and quiet. We were thrilled. If you are looking for nightlife or happy hour experiences, this place is not for you. For example, we introduced ourselves to one couple during our ten day stay.

Negative: The setting of the resort is beautiful. What you see in the pictures is what you get. It is natural and rustic. It is quiet and peaceful as well. The service and staff are excellent, as are the food and beverage offerings. There was nothing we didn't like.

Summary: We spent ten days reconnecting with each other, with the sun, sand and ocean.
