Negative: we reached their night time we had a hard time to find out the place. No street lights. First time if we are going you have to go day time.

Positive: This was an unexpected delight. The price and remote location were our original motivation for the booking but the family, food and unique welcome are the reasons we would go again and recommend to anyone who isn’t insistent on five star luxury. Our hosts command of the English language was exceptional and they were able to give us knowledge about Sri Lanka and recommendation on places to visit we may not have considered. Do not hesitate to book.

Positive: The family was SO nice, they drove me around and showed me sides of the area, tourists don’t normally go to. They gave me some of their own spices to bring back home, I honestly had the best time ever with them. I’m definitely coming back someday!

Positive: Mahesh and his family are the best hosts you can ever wish for. They create a home for you in Sri Lanka. The heritage is located pretty remotely with a huge garden in the mountains. You can reach it by tuktuk from the train station and Mahesh is happy to help if you need to go to town and want to see places. We visited waterfalls, tempels, the botanical garden of Kandy and the Ambuluwawa tower. He also went which us to local places for lunch and helped translating when ever needed. The house has different private rooms to choose from which are all nice and comfortable. Mine also had warm water in the shower, which was lovely. I booked for two nights only, but ended up staying for five nights in the end. His wife Vivi cooks fresh everyday with vegetables from their own garden and Mahesh is happy to show you around. He is the best tour guide when it comes to hidden gems where almost no tourist is. They even took care of me, when i was sick and Vivi brewed me some herbal medicine. If you really want to get to know Sri Lanka and its culture, you should definitely stay here. I already miss them!:(

Positive: The guesthouse is situated in a beautiful, hilly, slightly mountainous landscape. I drove there in a 110cc Honda Vio. I traveled to various destinations on my scooter. The owner is happy to give you some suggestions on where to go. There are temples, waterfalls, and mountain viewpoints to visit. An elephant sanctuary is also not too far away, as is Kandy with its botanical gardens and the Temple of the Tooth. 5-30 km. The temperature at night, around 22°C, is ideal for sleeping even without air conditioning. There is a fan, which I didn't need. It can get hot here during the day, but it's nowhere near as humid and oppressive as on the coast. My room was nice and clean, with a private bathroom. The view from my window looked out onto the garden. Around the house, you have a further view of the valley. You can set up your breakfast table outside so that you have shade and a beautiful view of the valley at the same time. The meal, with rice, various vegetables, and eggs, was extremely tasty and inexpensive. You are welcome to express your wishes.I, along with the owner, restored an old, overgrown spring and bathing area. It's about 40 meters away. It's still very rustic. It's about 2 meters long and 2 meters wide, made of brick, and chest-deep. It has a naturally uneven rocky and sandy bottom.I came as a stranger and left as a friend.

Negative: There are still some things stored on the side and behind the house. It's not ideal yet, but the owner wants to build a shed and store the things there.The view is still partially obscured by extensive vegetation, but this too is expected to be significantly improved in the near future.

Positive: The property and room are as described. I found that it met my needs.The bed and pillow were very comfortable and I slept well. It was possible to rest and relax at this accommodation. The location is truly spectacular, such a beautiful part of the world. I experienced the owner as kind, friendly, and a person of integrity. I was also offered a lot of helpful information about interesting places to visit in the local area. I felt very much at ease and twice extended my stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Heritage Haven and hope to return in the future.
