Positive: Our in the country.

Negative: I understand you are still building the property so just know there will be construction noise going on. No a/c in room or fan so it gets kind of stale in room. Just a fan to move the air would be helpful. Also read in previous reviews they only had cold water. I think they just didn’t wait long enough so it would be helpful if there was a note saying it takes some time for hot water to come and indicate which way to turn the knob for hot - that is also unclear. But hot water does come but it needs to run for a long time.

Summary: Great place out in the country run by a very nice couple.

Positive: Gisela was a beautiful host, she took care of any requests I had, advised me what to see during my stay and her kindness was really appreciated. The little flat was very cosy, romantic and I really regret I only stayed 1 night. Breakfast was breathtaking

Positive: Herdade da Maceira is located in a wonderful valley, all surrounded by trees, there are murmuring waters and everything is green and one is as close to nature as possible. The little appartment is cosy, stylish and very comfortable. We stayed only for one night but would like to come back. The host was incredibly nice and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

Positive: Gisela and Tiago are excellent hosts. They looked after all our needs and provided us recommendations for local hikes (including on their own large property, with their German Shepherd, Jonas, as a guide) and restaurants, served delicious breakfasts to our room and were always available to answer questions or to simply chat. The property, set in a park reserve, is scenic and serene. The room is rustic and comfortable, with open wood beams and equipped with a cooktop, refrigerator, pots and pans and cutlery. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The deck outside the room overlooks a forest. Gisela and Tiago strive to live in an ecologically friendly way, close to nature, and rely mainly on solar power. We highly recommend Herdade da Maceira.
