Positive: This is a very nice place, staffed by very nice people. It's well-maintained, clean, and the pool area is a great addition. It also offers an excellent breakfast. The breakfast consists of fresh fruit, and then your choice of mains. After a month in Africa it was so nice to have eggs that aren't overcooked.

Negative: It would be nice to have wifi in the rooms, but the wifi in the bar worked great and it was actually kind of nice to get my work done sitting at an outdoor bar facing the ocean.

Summary: This is a beautiful place to chill in comfort.

Positive: The hotel is in front of the beach, so you can really enjoy the ocean view. The staff was very kind and helpful. The food was well prepared. Our host arranged for us with an extra cost daily activities/trips.

Positive: Beautiful, small property in a quiet part of Bwejuu but within walking distance to Paje. The room we stayed in was stunning, overlooking the beach. The adjoining restaurant/bar was also very handy, and Mini the cat was very cute and playful.

Negative: Terribly minor things like needing a new code for the wifi every two hours was a little frustrating.

Positive: My daughter and loved staying at Helwas Beach Hotel. Our stay there far exceeded our expectations! The hosts, Ursula and Jeffrey were incredibly welcoming, helpful and charming! The food - both breakfast & other meals were all prepared fresh, l and were exceptional. The complimentary breakfast was remarkable, including fresh juice & fruit, toast & homemade jam, and a main dish…all incredibly yummy! Our room was impeccably clean, large & lovely as well. It is about a 25 minute walk along the beach to Paje or a short TukTuk/ taxi ride. We highly recommend here.

Positive: The hotel owners are present on site every day and take care of their guests in a warm and professional manner, significantly exceeding the standards on Zanzibar. The hotel is characterized by attention to detail, a very nice atmosphere, many amenities for guests. In relation to other hotels in the region, here you can feel the European hand of Mrs. Ursula and give a sense of care. Additionally, a huge advantage of the place is the high quality cuisine both at breakfast and dinner. It is worth coming here and coming back.

Positive: The owners are extremely kind and friendly. Gave us a lot of recommendations and were super attentive. Made us feel part of the family. Food is great here too. The beach view rooms are modern and clean and beautiful. The access to the beach is unmatchable

Negative: Location is nice cause it’s quiet but a bit annoying to have to take a taxi every time you wanna go to town. You could walk but it’s a bit far.
