Positive: This was a really nice hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a twin room which was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering but the use of the sterilising equipment was problematic and I feel not really necessary. The hostel stands in its own grounds and was peaceful.

Negative: There were only 2 toilets on our floor and the only showers were downstairs with one out of order. There should be adequate facilities on all floors.

Positive: Beautiful hostel with clean and tidy rooms, a spacious and well equipped kitchen+dining area. The kitchen has plenty of cookingware and dishes, as well as storage in the fridges and pantry for your food. Ample parking. Some basic items such as coffee beans, non perishable foods sold in the office. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Laundry can be done, with for a small charge to use the machine. Bike maintenance equipment available for bikers to use (no bike rentals). There were amenities such as a lounge and gym that I did not use as I was only there for one night. The hostel team is friendly and helpful, and they clearly want their guests to be well-provided for. The check in and check out is seamless, you can extend your stay till noon for 5 pounds. Only complaint is that the walls were a little thin. Bring your ear plugs. But with the other amenities, it's fantastic for a hostel. Very value for money.

Negative: Walls were a little thin, you can here other rooms closing and opening their doors. The carpet in my room smelled just a very little - not dirty, but musty. The showers on the first floor don't dry very well unless everyone mops after use - not everyone does.
