Positive: I didn't order breakfast. The bed was so comfy with such amazing light and peace that we lounged until lunch time. The room decor was beautiful and elegant as well as clean and fresh smelling with plenty of thick absorbent towels as well as bright crisp white linens and fluffy towels.

Negative: Missed having a microwave and refrigerator in a hotel room.

Positive: Harlow Hotel is in a historic old building in an old part of Portland. The building was gutted and refurbished with a 1920s-1930s theme, which we found delightful. There are many interesting restaurants, coffee shops, and trades people near the hotel. It is close to historic Union Station for trains. The hotel is secure and safe. The desk clerk was very responsive and helpful. Parking at the hotel is a problem, so plan to pay $32 extra to park in a public lot a half block away.

Negative: The shower needs to have grab bars added for safety, and a hook near the door for the towel and robe. One of the robes had no belt, and the robes do not have belt loops. The heated towel rail was non-operative.

Summary: Stay safely in the interesting Pearl district.
