Positive: Nice hotel in a good location. The old part of the hotel is really nice and is beautifully maintained in the glory of the olden days. The new part of the hotel is decent and basic. The breakfast is very nice but the breakfast room is a bit dark. The pillows on the beds were a bit strange with one very small and one super big pillow, nevertheless the beds were comfortable and we slept very well. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Positive: The old building is really nice and an attraction itself in a small town nordic like Haparanda
Negative: I didn’t like the room, it was small and the bathroom was pretty nasty. Not in the sense that it wasn’t cleaned, but the sink and the shower weren’t in their “gold era”. They definitely need un update. The room got nothing to do with the old, historical building that I naively supposed that we will stay, according to the information I got from booking. Instead we stayed in a new building that was buid some years ago. Also, the restaurant and the bar were closed and the options around the hotel were poorly. Not a friendly location for travelers. Especially for those with kids.

Positive: The buffet breakfast had the usual choices of hot and cold food. Plenty of fresh bread, tea, coffee and juices. Reception staff were helpful. We had a problem with our room and it was sorted straight away by reception.
Negative: The room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Bathtub had a plug but no chain so it was difficult to remove the plug
