Positive: First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

Summary: A fantastic get away hotel if you are planning to stay in Yamanashi.

Positive: It's a beautiful and well-maintained home with a large, open, shared area. The futon beds and linens were very comfy (we stayed two nights). The host was exceptionally accommodating! He made delicious breakfasts for us, helped us make lunch and dinner reservations, and even drove us to wineries!

Negative: Without having a car, you may be more dependent on taxis and the host to drive you around. Also keep in mind that your private space is limited to your room since everywhere else is shared space.

Summary: The location is in the middle of wine country & fruit orchards, truly beautiful! The host is great!

Positive: The service was very nice, he was more than helpful and very fun to talk to. He cooked all our meals and they were exceptional. He even got us bikes to travel on! Would definitely recommend!
