Negative: The night person that checked me in was rude and unfriendly (i have already discussed this with the manager).

Positive: The room was good, lovely toiletries and a great location. The bathroom was fabulous.

Negative: The rooms are cleaned every second day however, because it was Thanksgiving this was not done. Therefore we stayed for 3 nights without the room being serviced. When we questioned it, we were directed to a note on reception which we had not noticed and they confirmed the same happens over Christmas. Fine for people to be given time off however, the room service should be done if requested on the 2nd day. There was a fire alarm in the night and the building was not evacuated. Lifts were still being used by people leaving their rooms but people started to go back up having been told by 1 staff member that was in reception that it was a false alarm. So everyone else went back to their rooms despite the alarm still going and before the fire service arrived. Everyone was given a $50 refund and I was not going to mention it. However, if this was a real fire, the evacuation was not good enough and it should have been given the ok by the fire service. No staff were on the floors so no one knew what was happening. Sorry but would hate to not mention and something bad happen another time. Breakfast cutlery is plastic and be better to move away from single use plastics. An additional hot dish would be nice for those of us that dont eat meat or eggs such as mushrooms or tomatoes as the 3 hot dishes were meat, potatoes and eggs. However lots of cold items. Overall this is a great hotel for the price but a few tweaks needed to some important things including health & safety. I would stay again if I knew better procedures were in place.
