Summary: NASCAR race weekend

Summary: I arrived and was informed my room was not ready due to a “full house “ the night before. The clerk then offered the room to me free of charge. I thought this was a great gesture. I did not ask for it, he offered. He told me to return in an hour. I returned and met the same clerk. He looked at me, looked away, retrieved his phone and walked away without a word. He then returned about two minutes later with his jacket and backpack. He walked past me again without a word and simply walked out. In addition, the female clerk called his name and he ignored her as well. This gentleman was rude, and disrespectful. This goes well beyond the offer. That was a nice gesture, but it was more about his demeanor and behavior. The female clerk (Akita) did text me to check on me after check-in and was very pleasant to me. She offered helpful information on my stay. That was appreciated. I have stayed at this Hampton location several times in the past. I will say this was my worst experience. I doubt if I will stay here again or recommend this location. Besides Akita, the service was substandard.
