Positive: The staff at this hotel are outstanding. We also had a lovely dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.

Negative: The rooms are very outdated. They are in need of an upgrade. Also, the air conditioners only heat, not cool. It was a warm day and we were advised to open the windows in order to cool the room. This did work however the room then filled with mosquitoes and flies which made for a terrible night sleep.

Positive: What a beautiful place, they keep it in excellent condition and make full use of it all. There is a genuinely welcoming and friendly atmosphere . The staff were outstanding in the way they made you feel so much part of Hacienda Zorita.

Negative: Would have liked an English language sports channel on the television but honestly I’m struggling to find anything that I didn’t like.

Summary: My new favourite hideaway, looking forward to returning.

Negative: Super remote location and Google Maps location not updated!! Be aware of that when you fine the hoteö via google and book via booking.com. The hotel does not take any accountability for not updating their address on google wo ended up at their old location - and had to drive 140KM (both ways) to their real place. Power Outage from early morning, bathrooms, bedrooms cannot be used as they have no / little light, so we left earlier without proper coffee, no sauna etc...again not accountability from the hotel - not even an excuse from the hotel reg that. Unprofessional check out, double charging we had to identify that....got resolved then.

Summary: nice place but not professionally managed - be aware - it is not close to Portugal at all !!

Positive: Easy to find and park if arriving by car. Beautiful old building. Loads of character. Lovely location by river. Good quality restaurant on site. Staff very welcoming and professional. Wine tasting was a bonus!

Negative: Small, dark room. One window, none in bathroom (double room). A little bit tired and sound proofing not great. Power cut in the morning! Not hotel’s fault, but caused a problem with WiFi and hair drying!!
