Positive: The hacienda hotel is a destination in its own right; there are several pools, an artificial cenote, Mayan village, and extensive grounds to explore. The old hacienda buildings have been tastefully integrated into newer ones creating a wonderful ambience. The new restaurant area is also a great addition. Parking on site. In short, you don't really need to leave for a few days, although it's well located to explore historic sights nearby including the magic town of Mani and Cenotes Hacienda Mucuyché.

Negative: The food is a little overpriced, and they could do with offering some local craft beers. My main issue is that there is a noisy kitchen extractor fan above the old house affecting the breakast terrace and (smaller) pool area. This seriously detracts from the ambience in this prime location. The second (larger) pool is much quieter and relaxing but needs a little TLC, especially with the sun loungers.

Negative: The pool areas were not well maintained, the cenote and pools were not clean, the beds around the main pool were filthy dirty. The restaurant was way overpriced for average food and very small portions. The service from staff in the morning was not good at all. Too many things that need to be changed. The property has a lot of potential so it’s too bad.

Negative: Most of the staff did not speak English, and it was very hard to communicate. It was really hard to get drinking water, and we had to go to the reception to ask for water bottles. The shower in our room was broken. And the whole property had very poor lighting at night. Overall the property is not managed properly. The restaurant is overpriced and the food was just okay.

Positive: The hacienda is very large with many great spaces including 2 pools, a cenote and great walking/biking paths. The service was the best part. We had a very responsive concierge to help with tours. And the other staff were very friendly.

Negative: The location is not close too much. Unless you want to eat at the hacienda it’s about a 30 minute ride into Merida

Positive: We booked last minute due to the place we were booked in at being absolutely awful. This place was relatively cheap but looked at least better than where we were. We were absolutely blown away by everything about this place. The room was amazing. Breakfast - which is simply described as eggs, toast and coffee - was amazing and needs to be sold better. We had a lovely time. We used the laundry service and that was excellent too.

Negative: There wasn't a lot of hot water for showers but the weather was hot as hell anyway. This wasn't too big of an issue.

Summary: Lovely place. Very tranquil.

Positive: Everything. The site is absolutely gorgeous, staff are kind, food is delicious, prices reasonable.

Negative: Nothing. Every thing is top notch. Only complaint is we ran out of hot water before we could fill the massive tub.

Positive: The grounds were vast and the staff lovely. Also only 20 minutes from Mérida city centre. It has as 2 pools, plus the man-made cenote and plenty of space to sit and relax. I also really enjoyed all the trees and greenery after being in the city for so long. At night, there were lots of lovely hanging lights making everywhere look pretty, although quite a few weren't working. Lovely massage and good communication from reception even prior to our stay.

Negative: The room and the food were poor quality. The room was very basic, with dusty furniture, broken floor tiles and taps that weren't properly attached to the wall. The food was dry, only paper napkins and just lacking any finesse despite the lovely old building with incredibly high ceilings.

Summary: Lovely grounds, disappointing room and food
