Positive: Location. Well appointed.

Negative: Choice of pillows (not firm enough). Once the comfortable was removed, we felt more comfortable with the temperature of the room.

Positive: The hotel was very central, close to lots of restaurants and the chateau. The rooms were nice, and bathrooms nice.

Negative: I did not know at time of booking that we were limited to 1 hour at the pool and had to book in advance the slot. Upon going to my reserved spot there were maybe 9 other people there so it was crowded. The steam room was out of order and the sauna door handle was broken. The pancakes were nice at breakfast but the coffee, eggs, sausage etc were some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Very low quality. The coffee in the room was also low quality sachets. No milk etc. For €250 per night I would expect a lot better.

Summary: Overpriced hotel with a few flaws. Good location.

Positive: We liked everything. The spa facilities were just fantastic after a long day walking. Being able to go for a private swim with no other guests allowed in your booked slot was so relaxing. The sauna and hammam were nice but the pool was really long and narrow. The breakfast was really good - lots of options with pastries, fruit, cheeses, meats, bacon, scrambled egg, sausage, pancakes as well as tea options and coffee. The location was absolutely brilliant with the bus from the train station dropping us off virtually outside the hotel and it was a walk across the road to enter the Fontainebleau grounds, starting in the Gardens of Diana. The staff were lovely as well, especially Camile who gave us a very friendly welcome and smile every time we walked back into the hotel.

Negative: The room temperature could not be adjusted using the air conditioning controls. That was the only downside.

Positive: It was very quiet and the staff were professional. The inner court was cozy and we really enjoyed having the terrasse to chill out.

Negative: The toilet/bathroom was not very clean upon arrival. The coffee maker had sand(?) in the water carafe, which was hard to understand how it happened. Clearly, the cleaning staff does not completely clean the toilets nor empty and fill the water after every guest…

Positive: The breakfast was fantastic. Location was perfect. Staff was very nice.

Negative: The air conditioning in the room didn’t work properly. Mattress was a bit hard.

Positive: It was well located for our purpose.

Negative: When we arrived there was no one at the reception. We were told on arrival that the swimming pool was closed- no compensation / apology was offered. The person was not very welcoming. There is no way to contact reception from the room. The room had a funny smell. It was very dusty.

Summary: A very underwhelming experience- no effort made to make our stay better.
