Positive: The property’s location is excellent and just what one would expect a home in Provence to be. The structure, decor, and furnishings are in keeping with tradition. Though not large, our room was extremely comfortable. Our hostesses, Sandrine and Lea, were most obliging and very pleasant.

Negative: Though not a problem for us, the beautiful spiral staircase would be challenging to someone with mobility issues.

Summary: Le Colbert offers a perfect place from which to explore Avignon and nearby towns.

Positive: What a little gem! Handy for both the railway station and the centre of the old town. I wish I'd have stayed here the last time I came to Avignon. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room, off of a little Mediterranean style courtyard, was lovely. Comfortable bed and the shower was hot and powerful. Good breakfast - I know the madeleines are shop bought but they were delicious. Would I stay there again? I certainly would!

Positive: A very warm welcome on arrival and the lady was happy to speak in English or French. There is no lift and my room was on the third floor up a spiral staircase, but my case was carried up for me which I appreciated. It is very peaceful there and I slept well. The Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the train station and has easy access to the TIC and everything else you would need to do and see in the old town. There was always a cheerful welcome and goodbye every time I came in or went out, and plenty of information available.

Negative: I was bitten by a mosquito in the room so I would recommend you take repellant and relief.
