Positive: In a quiet street with free parking, the property is also very near the railway station and the town, just 2 or 3 minutes walk though there are lots of steps that way and you're then also in the little town. From the property there is an amazing view over the Rhein. As soon as we walked in, we felt at home. The owner, Frau Kurz, lives upstairs and her daughter-in-law oversees the beautiful flat downstairs. She lives elsewhere so there is a limited time when she is available to open up and show you around. At the front of the property is a large bedroom with comfortable bed, wardrobe, bedside cupboards with lamps you only have to touch to turn on/off - wonderful in a strange place when you don't know where the switch would be. Also at the front the kitchen/diner/ living room so well appointed - all you could possibly need in the kitchen area and immaculately clean. We'd brought our own washing up liquid, but that, cloths and towels were supplied. A table and dining chairs for 2, plus 2 chairs with pull-out foot rests for comfort while watching TV. At the back of the property is the beautiful, shiny shower unit, toilet and sink, towels provided. Everything had been thought of including a basket in the hallway to place damp towels to be taken for drying or replacing. The roller blinds are opened and closed automatically at times agreed with the younger Frau Kurz. We were able to choose how warm to have the rooms, (we like our bedroom to be cooler than our living room) and to change it when it wasn't quite right for us. She is extremely friendly and accessible by mobile, living nearby. There is a roller blind that separates the downstairs from Mum's part of the house. Mum keeps herself to herself but comes downstairs every morning to walk to the front door to collect her newspaper and return upstairs - may sound strange but is no problem at all. We felt comfortable, safe and would hope to stay again if we travel that way.
Negative: Nothing!
Summary: Picture postcard views, very friendly, helpful hosts and cosy flat

Positive: Large spacious room with separate kitchen area and bathroom on the ground floor of the host's house. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen clean and the bathroom modern. There is free parking available out front of the house and it's a short walk into town. There is great views of the Rhine from the house.
Negative: Everything was great and we had no issues.
Summary: Comfortable Homestay close to town

Positive: Everything about the property was good. One phone call to the host and we were met within minutes who explained everything about the property. The facilities were 100%
Negative: If we had been staying for longer, ie 6/7 days, a washing machine would have been a good addition. However, on this particular stay there was nothing to dislike.
Summary: Would definitely recommend and would go back again. 10 out of 10.

Positive: The location was great if you have a car as it is up a hill. You can walk to town through a short cut with stairs. So it is very convenient. We are from Canada and in our early 60s. Janet and her husband are nice. We saw Janet when we checked in ( which was a bit later, 8pm), and when we checked out as the check out is between 9am-10am and Janet reminded us of it a couple of nights before we were leaving. The kitchen was well equiped and we got a bottle of water and some chocolate as a little gift. Also coffee which is very nice. There was wine and beer in the fridge but we did assume that it was for sale even though there was no notes about it. The bedroom was quite big with a sink in it. We had everything we needed. It was easy to get to all the cute towns around St Goar. There was restaurants close by and a small grocery store. We had quick breakfast at the place and ate out for the rest as we were visiting around. There was parking on the street for free.
Negative: You need to be able to phone Janet as it is the only way to reach her when you arrive. I emailed her through booking but maybe she never got the message. It is not convenient if you dont have a phone package from your own country. The place was different than I thought. I was under the impression that we had a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom that were private. But the way it is divided the front door is right in the middle so when you go to the bathroom in your jammy( if you wear one!), people that come in see you right away. The first morning a lady came right in, to help the parents upstairs, then the second morning a worker came in with the owner so it did not feel very private. The upstairs( where the parents live), and downstairs is separated by a metal rolling door. If that door is left open by the workers, you hear everything. If there was another room rented it would had been an issue also as you would have to share the bathroom and small kitchen. There is also a train that passes by more often on the weekend but It did not bother us too much. I wear earplugs. The fan in the room also help as it provides white noise. The shower has a good pressure but doesnt hold its temperature so you dont stay very long. For me the most difficult thing was the bed. While quite big, It makes noise when you move and the mattress is very hard. If the bed was comfortable and we were the only one renting, we would stay there again now that I know what it is like. It was just a bit surprising.
Summary: Cute place in the heart of St Goar .
