Summary: This is an amazing hotel in a beautiful location near one of Germany's largest lakes, the Chiemsee. The facilities are superb, especially if you like golf or equestrian pursuits, but also if, like us, you just want to relax and take the occasional swim, either in one of the hotel's pools or in the lake. The food is excellent in either the main restaurant, which is Bavarian style, or the Italian restaurant attached to the indoor riding school, which has superb views across the Chiemsee to the mountains. The room we had was large and comfortable with a balcony. The only drawback was the lack of air-conditioning since the temperature hit 37 degrees while we were there. The staff helpfully provided an electric fan and for most of the year it's probably not a problem. Of course,it's not cheap but it was excellent value for money. Would we go back? Absolutely!
