Summary: The lakeside location was great, even though we only had a ‘garden’ view, and the manager on duty when we arrived was very friendly and helpful, so we were able to check in early. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, with a pleasant small balcony, and parking was easy.

Summary: Grundl Alm was a great choice for me. It is excellent value for someone travelling alone because I was able to book a single room. The room was comfortable and looked very clean. I really had nothing to complain about (although the bed-side lamp was rather dim for reading).

Summary: Stayed just one night in the hotel. The location and town are absolutely beautiful, you can't beat the surroundings. The hotel itself is a typical Bavarian mountain hotel, with the traditional decor. The rooms are nice and clean, basic and functional, and the beds are hard, as is standard in any German hotel room. In the room that I was originally given, the heat was not working properly; the staff were quick to come and see if they could help, and when it was clear the problem could not immediately be fixed, I was given a different room. The new room I was given was of a more expensive class, but there was never a mention of charging me more for the change. The staff was unfailingly polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Gundl Alm.
