Positive: It was the second time we stayed at La Badia - the first time we rented the upstairs apartment. This time this smaller one on the ground floor was available. First of all: the location is stunning. The view from the grounds over Lago Trasimeno, the tranquility, the whole layout is a treat. Both times we stayed it was a time to relax and enjoy silence. The apartment itself is simple, but sufficient. I would recommend it for two people only, with the guest bed it can get really cramped. All utensils in the kitchen you would need during holiday are available (I just missed a tea pot or smth in that direction ;). The "bedroom" is a mezzanine in the living room - quite charming, but yes it can get a bit warm and stuffy - so good airing out helps a lot. Also several fans are available. The bathroom is quite lavish. The whole apartment has a little "hobbit whole" vibe, which we did not mind, since the thick walls and general darkness helps a lot with Italian summer heat. Communication and key exchange were excellent. Yes, the guest parking is a one minute walk to the main gate - but, come one, you can see from pictures that this is not an all inclusive hotel with valet service.

Negative: Ceilings in the living and sleeping room are a bit low - so mind your head, maybe not suited for taller people. The internet was generally good, sometimes a bit weak in the evenings. But hey, put the phone away and enjoy the views. The kitchen cabinets are a tiny bit dated and askew, but they come with a lot of character and are in keeping with the style.
