Positive: Old style charm and hospitality , quiet and discrete in beautiful country house building in stunning location. Plenty of space inside and outside, breakfast was a good standard although buffet element not extensive. Choice of breakfast dishes freshly cooked to order and coffee and toast served at table. Our room and ensuite were spacious with beautiful sea views across the golf course.

Negative: Shower is good and modern but is over the bath. Headboard not the most comfortable as not padded.

Positive: Location and facilities were just what we were looking for. All food and drink was to be expected for a hotel at this price range. A nice, cosy, boutique hotel. We enjoyed the country house hotel vibe.

Negative: The Hotel has a lot of old-house charm, maybe a little dated in some areas (but still clean). We know the hotel will be upgrading the facilites soon.

Summary: A great, relaxing, stay in a nice location.

Positive: Great staff (100%) - comfortable and relaxing (100%) - Good food (90%) - Breakfast was fine, but there are better (80%). Gardens are beautiful and very well kept. Love the library - don't ever change it.

Negative: Breakfast was OK, but we always measure against the green Park at Pitlochry which was the best ever encountered. Limited cereals - why? Slightly skimpy on bacon and black pudding. Still good though

Positive: Beautiful location and a wonderful old feel to the hotel. Good range of food at breakfast. The single rooms seem to have been slightly upgraded since my last stay with new bathrooms.

Negative: Lack of options for dining in the evening and always filled with loud American men droning on about golf!
