Positive: My stay here was fantastic! The home is very comfortable, the gave me the choice between 2 rooms, and gave me a heater. The whole family is very kind and accommodating. It’s a great chance to see how a local family lives, too. The room was quiet, the bed is comfortable with thick, cozy blankets. You’ll sleep like a baby! There’s a western style toilet, which is attached to the house, but just outside. There’s TP, just make sure you put it in the bucket and don’t flush it. There’s also a “bum gun” to wash yourself with. Inside a a separate “wash room” where you can wash your hands and shower. The shower is great, with lots of hot water and good water pressure. The family will go out of their way to feed you. I am vegan so my breakfast (which is included) consisted of fresh tomatoes and cucumber, as well as fresh bread and quince jam, as well as another type of jam, but I forgot which kind. They also offer cheese and butter. And of course tea. I’m sure you could have coffee if you like. I enjoyed my time with the husband, and adult nephew, who are very kind and accommodating. They are both teachers in the village and will try to have conversations with you, and will really try to communicate via a translation app. The nephew speaks pretty good English. The “mom” was out of town so I didn’t get to meet her. The daughter and her adorable son (maybe 4 yrs?) who live next door were there to help me and gave me breakfast one morning when papa had to go to work. Her husband, who also speaks English, came up to the village in his car the night that I arrived (since it was already dark) to help guide me to the place, since Google had no idea where it actually was, or how to get there. The roads are a bit steep and a little sketchy in places, but I managed in a front wheel drive Chevy Spark. 😂 The property is in a beautiful location close to the river, surrounded by mountains, with chickens and goats, etc.
Summary: Excellent home stay. Comfortable, nice food, very kind family, beautiful setting, great WiFi! 😊

Positive: Everything. The guesthouse is cozy, clean, and perfectly located to experience the true spirit of Xinaliq. The atmosphere feels like home from the moment you arrive. Akbar and his wife are exceptional hosts — kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made sure I was comfortable at all times and treated me like family, not a guest.
Negative: Honestly, nothing. The stay exceeded my expectations in every way.
