Positive: After doing 1200 km in a rented tuktuk and coming south from the east coast, I was looking for a comfortable overnight before making the turn west. I definitely found it here and wish I had planned more nights. My hut was simply perfect. Spacious room, very clean, hot water was plentiful, and the porch was peaceful. The host is just an amazing person to chat with and who is passionate about the property and nature in general. So many little treasures for fruit, nuts, vegetables growing in every corner. The views of the lake were amazing, especially the mornings and evenings. My dinner here was delicious. Like minded guests who appreciate the experience. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Positive: The property was very clean, with large rooms and good facilities. The pool is huge and as we were the only ones staying there at the time it was essentially private. The best thing about this property is the host who went above and beyond continuously throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to do a Yala safari tour.

Negative: The property is around 15 minutes drive away from Tissamahara, however, the host offered us a ride into town whenever we wanted so was not an issue.

Summary: We had a perfect stay here it couldn’t have been any better.

Positive: Fantastic host, really friendly and hospitable, nothing was too much trouble and the food was brilliant including some fruits grown in the garden there. Well catered for gluten free/vegetarian. The safari tent was clean and comfy, pool was nice and it's a good spot to get picked up for yala safari.

Positive: Wow! This was easily our top stay in Sri Lanka. The host was incredibly hospitable, he spoke great English and overall made our Yala experience so wonderful. Communication was always quick and easy. Also whenever we wanted to go somewhere he offered to take us in his tuk-tuk, which made getting into town easy. The breakfast was exceptional, we got to try lots of different Sri Lankan dishes, fresh fruit, omelets, toast and spreads and fresh mango juice, fresh from their many mango trees on the property. We also got dinner here one night and we were expecting just some curry and rice but we were blown away with the feast that came. Starting with a Sri Lankan soup, then came rice and curry with a whole bunch of other Sri Lankan dishes to try and then we finished off with a Sri Lankan dessert - curd and palm syrup. The room was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. We ended up being upgraded due to being the only guests during those nights. The WiFi worked well in the room, and porch area where we were served breakfast and dinner. We were also here a day after the cyclone had finished and so the national park ended up being closed. However our host was quick to organize another Safari tour just outside the park. This was such a great experience, we saw so many animals and got to go to a local temple / hill view point looking out over the national park. We were so grateful to still be able to do something despite not getting into Yala. Overall if we could rate this stay higher we would. We highly recommend staying here if you are planning on coming to Yala.

Positive: Amazing deluxe room in Green Villa. Spacious, clean and good AC. Family very friendly, relaxed, flexible. We were generously treated with mangoes and other fruits from the garden. They have over 5 species of mango (consider it a local mango tasting). Swimming pool clean and close to the lake. Kind dogs that help protect from a friendly elephant visit (who also wanted a nightly mango tasting).

Negative: Long drive around the lake, so recommend having your own transportation.

Summary: Relaxed, spacious stay from Tissa and Yala with plenty of fruit trees to try
