Summary: Friendly staff on reception on arrival and departure. However the room we were in was above the bar so we could hear music and doors slamming. Also the cleaner had appeared to spill cleaning fluid on the wooden floor which meant it was dangerously slippery. We had to wipe it up and put the shower mat over it to avoid falling over.

Summary: Location is ideal for Stansted. It’s directly under the flight path for planes landing & taking off so you’re a light sleeper, I would avoid. We were aware of this prior so had no surprises. Despite putting a ticket on the car provided by the hotel, we have ended up with a parking ticket!! So now we are contesting that. Seems like a problem that others have experienced also. The rooms were quite outdated and in need of an upgrade but this was potentially reflected in the price. The rooms weren’t very clean, floor dirty + bathroom. As we were only staying for a short time because of our flight, it didn’t bother us that much. Overall, it was an average stay but we wouldn’t stay again.

Summary: Lovely hotel with lovely reception staff. We only had a brief overnight stay and were very happy with it. Not so great was the noise from the kitchen generator. Not for anyone who doesn’t want to be on the flight path.

Summary: Hotel communal area was nice. Room was dated. Had to move the side tables to access plug sockets. Some plug sockets didn’t work. The kettle only turned on at a certain position. Staff were friendly in the restaurant. Good food. Good location to get to stansted however we didn’t get much sleep because of the planes taking off every few minutes.

Summary: The hotel is lovely. However, Hotels.com have it filtering under swimming pool, it has two ponds, no swimming, whcih was a great shame. It is also under the flight path to Stanstead so quite noisy with both flights and people vacating early to catch their flights. However, the room was comfortable but as I staid over the hottest days, a fan in the wardrobe that could be used would have been a real bonus. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent and I would recommend that.

Summary: Very nice room on ground floor. There is an outer door which does not reveal that rooms 7 and 8 are inside. The TV reception was very poor. Loved the shower. Very nice restaurant. Food needs improving given the price. Excellent grounds. All in all, apart from being under the Stansted flight path, very enjoyable stay. Will come again. One thing registering for free parking needs simplifying. Very confusing.

Summary: Room was just as advertised and had everything we needed - except hair conditioner. Easy and helpful check-in staff. Clean. The collection of buildings were absolutely stunningly cute and well-maintained, especially for the age, and nice explorable grounds. Not much open in the area or walkable past evening time. Quick cab ride to Stanstead. Beds a bit on the short size, rooms could use fans in the summer. Opening the windows was an option but we were on the road side which was surprisingly noisy for most of the night, in addition to very loud planes overhead nearly every 5 minutes well past 11 pm. Nice place, but bring ear plugs or a white noise machine.
