Positive: Comfy and traditional cottage - quiet and homely. Hazel and Maurice are so nice and clearly put a lot of care into Granny's Cottage. I was here to walk in the hills above neighbouring Berriedale but it would be a good and peaceful base for car-owners to explore the wider area. Exceptionally good value.

Negative: All was great. The lack of wi-fi is reflected in the price - but anyway you can find a phone signal in the higher parts of the village (and down at the harbour) ...and sometimes in the cottage's bedroom.

Positive: Granny's cottage was ideal for our trip to visit family in Dunbeath. The cottage had everything we needed with a fully equipped kitchen. Hazel was available for any questions and check in/out was very easy. Easy walk to Dunbeath beach and access to local shop.

Positive: I love this place, this place brought so many warm to me. My journey to Dunbeath was not easy, but the people in Dunbeath village, especially Hazel and Maurice, they treated me so nice :) When I was here, I thought a lot. I used to think my dream is finding a place to stay, with beautiful views and without the internet &signal. But after I stayed here for a week, turned out I was wrong (no internet and signal, but for me it was okay, a new experience). I came here alone during the New year, I found the most things I want to have was not internet, instead, family. I really hope they could be there and stay with me, at this peaceful village, with me. But thanks to those people, I feel so warm. I didn’t know anyone here before, but they took care of me as their family. Maybe, my dream came true as another way.

Positive: You wouldn't meet nicer owners, Hazel and Maurice are lovely lovely people and greeted us on arrival and saw us into the cottage to a table set with home made scones local Caithness jams shortbread and more with table set for tea, It was a pleasure we not only got to stay in this lovely cottage but to meet and share a chat with them, this Is so much nicer than a lot of places that have a keysafe and local cleaners which are usually nowhere near as well kept, Hazel & Maurice keep their cottage In a more than comfortable clean cosy condition and has everything you could need. Beautiful and we will happily return In the near future. Weather was super and From Dunbeath you can visit any of the many lovely beeches on the east coast either up or down which also have shops and eateries. Many Many Thanks x.

Positive: Hazel gave us a very Highland welcome, very friendly, helpfull, knowledgable and tea biscuits and home made scones and cakes with jam, a full welcome pack. Everything was very convenient and nothing was a bother, recommend highly, first class. Great holiday and felt very welcome. We have rented in the Highlands and Islands many a time and Granny's was at the top of a very impressive list, thank you Hazel for a great holiday.
