Summary: Grand Palladium Riviera Maya – Guest Experience Report I’ve stayed at the Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya before and had wonderful experiences in the past. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was deeply disappointing and fell far below the standard I’ve come to expect from a resort of this caliber. To begin with, the butler service was unreliable and ineffective. Every time I made a request, it was either ignored or never followed through on. This was a consistent issue throughout my stay, and it significantly impacted my overall experience. There were also major delays when it came to food and beverage service. Whether it was lunch or dinner, waiting for drinks became a frustrating routine. The service was noticeably inconsistent and slow. On my first day, I had trouble getting into my room and approached the manager for assistance. Unfortunately, the manager was unhelpful and did not resolve the issue. Once I finally got access to the room, I noticed that it was never properly stocked with drinks or snacks—something that should be standard for this level of resort. Another deeply concerning issue was the behavior of some of the staff. There appeared to be a clear preference shown toward white guests over others. This kind of unequal treatment is unacceptable and left a lasting negative impression. Perhaps the most upsetting part of my stay was the inability to book a massage. Summary: Dont come during summer, beach is closed due to mountains of seaweed and it STINKS. We had zero issues with the room or housekeeping. Our butler/concierge was so awesome that we ended up tipping him $100 extra before leaving. The resort was beautiful. But here’s the down side. The food… not good.. not even the restaurants that you have to pay extra for. Every meal we had was bland, room temp, and very small portions. Room service is even worse than the restaurants. Also, I got sick TWICE while on my stay from poorly handled fruits and vegetables. Most of the drinks from the bar also tasted odd so I stuck to wine mostly, which they charged extra for. Moving on from food, we ended up getting CONNED into joining the travel club for extra benefits.. but in order to receive the benefits we had to attend a welcome breakfast. They HOUNDED us about it. I mean relentlessly. So my 2 children and I got up early and went to the breakfast. When we got there we were told that we couldnt attend because my husband was not with us and then were sent back across the resort to get breakfast elsewhere. I never got my “free” massage at the spa or any of the other benefits because of it. I paid $650 for nothing. So dont buy into the travel club nonsense. On to another point, this place is MASSIVE. You cant really get to anything from your room without having a golf cart called to pick you up unless you want to hike a mile or more. It was nice seeing all of the wildlife while walking around though.

Summary: The quality of service in the family selection area is outstanding. Rooms are tidy and comfortable and everyone in the staff goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Food and drinks are of great quality and probably the best I have seen in an all inclusive resort. The only downside wasn’t even the hotels fault but it’s important to have in mind that a lot of sargassum comes to the coast in the June-August season and beach was completely unusable. Hope I can come back again, totally worth it! 100% recommended for families

Summary: Great place for families with nightly entertainment and perks for VIP. We were over the buffet food after the second day and you needed a reservation to eat at onsite restaurants. We ended up driving to Tulum city for dinner on most nights. Pools were great and kids loved it. There’s lots to do at the resort and it was overwhelming trying to figure out all the amenities and entertainment, but the butler service did answer a lot of our questions. A couple of times, the nightly entertainment locations were incorrect. I wished there was signage with arrows pointing to the entertainment locations. Beach was covered with seaweed which also made it stinky, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. I did not like that we were invited to a “highlights tour” of the hotel property which ended up being a presentation/sales pitch to join their vacation club. We were told we’d get credit to use at the hotel’s gift shop if we agreed to the tour and that should have been the first red flag. I wish they would have been more transparent and used different verbiage instead of “highlights tour”. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and personable. Property was clean and safe. Property has shuttles that can take you to different parts of the hotel as the complex is huge.

Summary: The Grand Palladium Kantenah was a fantastic vacation for our family! We traveled with our 5 year old daughter and stayed in a swim up room with a king bed and a pull out sofa. It was roomy enough for the three of us and the pool by the room was nice for us to sneak into after bedtime. We ate at The Nest for breakfast each day, had lunches at Es Niu, La Hacienda, and El Gran Azul, and we had dinners at Portofino, Bahia E Brasa, and Sumptuori. A couple food highlights were the Augustine at Es Niu and the teppanyaki dinner at Sumptuori. Given the chance, I would maybe pass on Portofino and choose a different restaurant. The pool in the family zone, right by Es Niu and the teen club, was fantastic. It was a short walk from the room, kept a great temperature, and they had lots of activities for the little ones. The beach wasn’t really usable the whole time, but we didn’t mind (too much seaweed and really rough surf). Between the family pool, the main pool, and the multiple water slides, we were happily entertained. This is a great spot to visit! We would definitely go back.
