Positive: Fantastic lodge in a stunning location. Winston and Joseph went out of their way to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. Lots of little luxuries like hot water bottles at night and boot cleaning after trekking. The perfect jumping off point for gorilla trekking only 10mins from Rushaga gate. The food was excellent too prepared by their chef

Negative: Minor issues bathroom needs more hooks, beds need a reading light and tea/coffee in room would be nice

Positive: Staying here was truly a 5-star experience. Everything about this place is top-level luxurious; I can only think of a few other places I've stayed in my long life that come close. Our apartment was incredible - we had two huge bedrooms, each with its own enormous bathroom and private balcony with sitting area, plus a large shared living room with a lovely complimentary fruit basket. These accommodations were perfect for our small family (widow and two adult children). Each of the three beds had epic mosquito netting all around, which the staff set up for us while we were at dinner. This was really more for atmosphere than anything else, as I didn't see a single insect anywhere during our entire stay, but I loved it. The grounds outside our rooms were wonderful too, with a lovely garden, and for those who self-drive they have abundant private parking. We also noticed that they had discrete but formidable private security (which we encountered when wandering around the premises after dark); I'm not sure why because the whole surrounding area seemed super quiet and peaceful, but I suppose it maybe helps some guests feel reassured against wild elephants or whatever. The excellent chef at their onsite restaurant made us an incredible mutli-course dinner, which we all really enjoyed, and the staff even arranged for a local women's community group to be waiting there to do a bespoke welcome dance for us when we arrived. I only wish our stay could have been longer, to better enjoy this place. There is so much to see and do in Bwindi NP, and it would have been perfect to spend 2-3 nights here instead of just one (due to our tight schedule). The lodge also offers all sorts of services for folks who travel independently, including things like transportation to/from Bwindi or even to/from the border with Rwanda. For folks who show up with a driver, they even have special accommodations for the driver.

Negative: It was a bit disconcerting to me that, apart from the room rate which I knew from making the booking ahead of time, there was never any mention of how much things cost. I mean, one could ask and then they would tell you, but if you didn't ask then they didn't mention it. It was all fine and nothing was too expensive, this custom just seemed a bit odd to me. I don't fault them for it though because my children tell me that this is normal for places that cater to the wealthy.

Positive: Very spacious beautiful rooms, friendly staff and amazing food.

Negative: If there was a problem (there was a mouse in our room which pooed on our bed in the night) everyone always said: we will check this. But nothing ever happened apart from that. Same with not working hot water, we had to call several times until someone came for help. A really beautiful hotel but for that price the last details are missing.

Positive: I rarely give such a high evaluation but this lodge and the staff absolutely deserve it! - complete organization of permits and transport - very delicious breakfast and dinner - awesome service from super friendly staff, they even cleaned our shoes after the trekking and were attentive all the time - very clean and well equipped rooms - there is everything you need I highly recommend this lodge to everybody who search comfort after returning from the gorilla trekking in Bwindi. This place is magic !

Negative: Nothing to complain about ! It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for
