Positive: I never write reviews. In fact this is my first but we enjoyed our stay so much I wanted to share our experience. We can’t speak highly enough of this property and especially the team there that made our stay in Sri Lanka so awesome. They worked hard all day and did so with a happy smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to Anu who was always on hand to transport us, provide advice, arrange trips, be a tour guide and generally make our trip special. He picked us up and dropped us back to the airport, which was a 3hr round trip for him. He was also available all hours of the day, 24-7. The room, property and grounds were spotless. The food was consistently good and the kitchen was happy to flex for food preferences. We absolutely loved the two Dalmatians, Spot and Bila, who welcomed us home every day and put a smile on our faces. We miss them already! All of this for a very reasonable nightly rate - great value for money. We highly recommend the hotel and would come back in a flash.

Positive: We stayed with our 2 children and just loved this place, you will not be disappointed. Abu and his team were fantastic and could not do enough to help. The pool and gardens are wonderful, our kids loved spot and Bella (pup) Dalmatian’s. breakfast was delicious and plentiful, homemade juices, and super Sri Lankan dishes. We stayed 2 nights and wished we had booked longer, the air conditioning is needed and worked well. We will definitely return for some of the best Arak cocktails!

Negative: The only small thing, pillows are large and firm, maybe a selection for next time, but we had a great time and it wouldn’t stop us coming back.

Positive: The building was nice - colonial style. The room was big, with wardrobe so you could unpack. The balcony, veranda and pool were really good. Staff were friendly - pot of tea and cake were given when came back from long day sight seeing. The breakfast was good - fruit bowl, yoghurt, honey, juice, omelet, toast. Manager was very quick to arrange tuk tuk pick ups via whatsapp. Fresh towels were provided every day.

Negative: There was a building site in the garden which wasnt screened off and was active every day. Although it wasnt that noisy but the workers could see you swimming or relaxing by the pool. The description of facilities on booking.com didnt quite match reality: no complimentary tuk tuk (as mentioned in the host's intro) - you had to pay every time no events like Bollywood night or Kandyan dancing (as shown in the photos) no yoga, no bathrobes (as mentioned in description) No information given about local sights or the bicycles (as mentioned in the description) The doors in the room needed a clean up and the light switches were very dirty (the rest of the room was fine). The safe in the room didnt work - I reported it to 2 members of staff but it wasnt looked at. Generally didnt meet expectations.

Positive: It was peaceful and set in a beautiful garden. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable and all the staff were friendly, courteous and did their best to make us feel welcome and at home during our stay. It felt more like a welcoming home than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious and we had an evening meal most nights in their Good Karma Garden Restaurant. The evening meals were a variety of different local curries cooked with fresh ingredients. We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return again. The swimming pool was also wonderful and there is free transport to the beautiful sandy beach.
