Positive: The host Caterina is a gentle and extremely friendly woman with a warm smile that made us feel immediately at home. The room was quite small and a little cramped for the three of us and the bathroom quite basic (after you shower the entire floor is flooded with water). However the place is right next to Rabati castle (which is the reason to come to Akhaltsikhe), the breakfast was homecooked with love and it really felt like being hosted by a Georgian family.

Positive: We stayed just one night at Golden Gate Hotel, but it was truly unforgettable! 🌟 The host was absolutely outstanding – so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely, making us feel at home from the very first moment. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a warm atmosphere and thoughtful details everywhere. Our room was super comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Even though it was a short visit, the hospitality and comfort made a big impression. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Akhaltsikhe – it’s a real gem and we’ll definitely return when we come back!

Positive: The owner is really kind. She always smiles and tries to help us whenever we ask. The location is the next to the castle. The breakfast is good, too.

Negative: We stays at the half basement. So there is no view. Maybe other rooms upstairs have the view.

Negative: I booked the small double, it was something of a broom cupboard, not a huge problem, however I specifically requested a quiet room with a window and received a prompt response indicating that this was possible (quite likely an automatic response from booking.com). Well, the window opened onto internal stairs, and the room is situated between the kitchen and dining rooms. Any noise from either direction was intrusive. The man who was 'born with a loud voice ' who was in the dining room till late was the final straw. I expect he also disturbed others in his vicinity. There did seem to be other rooms which may be quieter.

Positive: The hotel is right at beginning of the stairways leading up to the fortress, the lady that welcome was super nice and helpfull and the breakfast is huge and one of the best i had in Georgia

Negative: The matress could be better and the room i was in had it's bathroom separated from the room itself you had to go outside of your room to go to the bathroom
