Positive: Great onsen and included meals. We even had a nice show organized by the hotel staff. Great location if you want visit Gassho-Zukuri houses around.
Negative: The room had many bugs around the windows. This seemed to be a seasonal issue and the hotel was aware of this and had left instructions.
Summary: Great location for a very interesting countryside, lovely Onsen.

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay here. We liked practically everything about the place. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful. The food was good. The hotel snacks and gifts were good and reasonable. The onsen was excellent. The World Heritage site was about two bus stops away, so it was very near and a very short ride. They serve food there at a restaurant and they also had different gifts and snacks there too. It was a very stunning place to visit during the winter at least.
Negative: The cost for local buses in the area is a bit high. The city buses didn’t accept Visa and they don’t give change. The World heritage bus, however, does take Visa. Also, there was almost no other places to eat nearby. Only one other place was open and within walking distance, during the time we stayed there. It was over the New Year’s holiday time so I’m sure that contributed to it.
Summary: A relaxing getaway to a remote and serene location, not too far from the city.

Positive: Fabulous Mountain View all covered with snow. Very relaxing onsen to enjoy ans part of half board package, including a really nice outdoor onsen with snow around. Dinner with hida beef and breakfast were delicious. Hotel has elevator and so no worries about lugging our baggages. Free car parking on hotel premises.
Negative: Nothing much. It’s in the mountains and so car is needed to get there.

Positive: Wonderful Onsen and a very clean place in general. Very nice typical Japanese dinner and breakfast and the room was very good too !
Negative: There is no shower except those in the Onsen.

Positive: The onsen is situated in a beautiful valley, perched on a hillside just above the town of Kaminashi. Huge, lush mountains surround you, and there’s a large river running down the valley below. The staff was very welcoming and let us leave our bags in the lobby before our check in time. The onsen facilities were great. The women’s outdoor pool had incredible views of the mountains, and it was beautifully designed. The room had fantastic views of the mountains and was very comfortable. We had such a peaceful retreat here for one night. The town of Kaminashi was also nice to explore. We enjoyed the café, 作助, as well as the tofu store, 喜平商店. This was one of our favorite stays in our trip to Japan, and we hope to return in the future!
