Positive: The place is a beautiful kept traditional Japanese wooden house. I loved the house and the location but the best part of the experience were the host family. I felt like I was visiting my family, I got to experience very traditional meals and great company. I hope to visit again!

Negative: That my stay was too short!

Positive: Although it is a bit far away, the overall feeling is very comfortable, and the Japanese-style room is large. I added 1,200 yen for dinner and 500 yen for a glass of beer. It's a good feeling.

Positive: The property was great and really cosy, but the guy who runs the place is really amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and offered to take us surfing and drink beers with us, etc. will definitely be coming back

Positive: Excellent proprietor who is fun to chill and talk with. House is traditional style and lovely on the inside, with updated cedar floors in some rooms and tatami for the bedrooms. He's got a mini bar and even draft beer, so you can actually relax in the main room, chat, watch TV, and drink. Breakfast is simple but yummy and cheap. Huge rooms so if you're lucky enough to get it alone or with a partner then it's super spacious. Price is excellent and the location is beautiful. There's also a Japanese style garden outside.

Negative: I wasn't aware that certain extras would require additional charges so just be aware of that when you book. I didn't actually need to pay for anything extra besides breakfast, but if I had wanted to shower and use towels, I think that it would've cost me extra. Still, perhaps I just missed this info on Booking's website. Regardless, it's still a great deal and I'll definitely be back. For those who don't do well sleeping on hard surfaces, please be advised that the sleeping arrangements are basically futons and a pillow on the tatami floor. It's something I personally can do occasionally, but if you need a mattress or larger cushion, it may not be possible.
