Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The property management company responded to texts quickly.

Negative: The property management company laid out a LOT of rules listed in several different places in copious paperwork, FAQs, and videos on the electonic dashboard. A lot was harshly worded and unclear, like there will be fines for not turning off string lights in the backyard at certain times (which turn on automatically?) and videos on how to do it--it was a lot of work to stay there and worry if we were being compliant! But the biggest confusion was the pool. We picked this property for our family reunion because a heated pool was included in the price, which they said would be heated to 82-85 degrees on arrival. But the pool felt cold when we arrived with no way to confirm temperature. They demanded that we not touch any pool controls to try to fix it or they would charge us for damages, but they said if we turn on the hot tub the pool no longer warms. That's weird! We tried to get them to call us to explain how to switch between the pool and spa heat but they just reiterated that we weren't allowed to touch any controls or we would pay for damages. Unfortunately that led us to abandon the pool and only use the spa for the week,which was a shame. They also had in the agreement that you couldn't take the large vacuum and hose out of the pool so it wasn't safe to use with the kids anyway. I asked for a discount due to the lack of pool use and they declined. The bunk beds are also very rickety for our grown kids and had a ceiling fan that comes into contact with upper bunkers (they warn you not to use it if sleeping up there but the room was stuffy without). We found a few broken items (umbrella, bathtub stopper) and they sent next day some replacements from Amazon. I liked the speed, but they expected us to unpack and get the stuff up and running, but we aren't on the payroll so we just went without.
