Summary: Delightful, roomy, great location!

Summary: My US family traveled to the Ballyduff area for our every 5 year reunion. Glenbeg served as a beautiful, comfortable and gracious 'home away from home' for us. We made use of the expresso machine every morning and the lovely dining room with fireplace for dinner on the nights we were here. Magical moments occurred around that table. Gerald referred us to the recently opened Farmgate Lismore restaurant and we could not be more pleased this recommendation. Food excellent (all locally sourced) and the space was exquisitely designed. When we had a question about something related to the house, Billy was available and attentive. Our time spent at Glenbeg was truly wonderful. While we were there, the hay in the field in front of the house was being collected and baled which proved to be a very interesting process to observe. i speak on behalf of my other family members when we collectively thank Gerald for this warm and wonderful and unforgettable Glenbeg experience.

Summary: Our family felt very much at home at this property. From the welcome breakfast (including fresh bread, meats, fruits and eggs) to the very comfortable beds. Our host Gerard, sent us a list of local attractions in the area which helped us explore the beautiful country of Ireland. The accommodations fit our family perfectly and we especially enjoyed the fireplace in the red barn. Our granddaughter loved the play area and running on the spacious lawn. I would highly recommend this property for a family vacation.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay at Glenbeg House. It had all the feels of an Irish grande estate and yet was so cozy and homey for our family of 15 (3 generations). Gerard was a wonderful host providing for all our needs and many thoughtful touches. He was readily available via text and beyond helpful when we encountered a dental emergency! The house is well stocked and we were able to enjoy cooking many meals in the kitchen, homemade pizza in the outdoor oven and steak from the local butcher on the grill. Lismore is a delightful community and Glenbeg is a perfect location for day trips anywhere. Though with all the wonderful views and amenities at Glenbeg House you wouldn’t need to venture far. We were all sad to leave.

Summary: This was our second year in a row renting this property and again it was absolutely flawless. The location and grounds are beautiful and well worth walking around. The house itself is fantastic, the photos do not do it justice. It's well equipped and had everything we needed to cook for a large group. I would 100% recommend renting this property and I hope to be back myself. Thanks!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay in this historic property nestled in a lovely green valley by the river. Gerard is an excellent host and provided incredibly helpful guides for the area and the house and property. All of the recommendations we tried were spot on. He was also extremely responsive to any questions or issues we had during our stay. The kids loved playing on the grounds. Our group of 14 had more than enough space to stay comfortably. Would highly recommend!

Summary: Beautiful country manor home, set on acres of fam land. We woke to the sights and sounds of the horses grazing in their fields each morning . The grounds are amazing. The home itself is spacious and filled with lovely antiques. The kitchen is AMAZING!!!! Perfect place to stay while spending a month touring the country. So convenient to get to Dublin, Cork, Galway, Ring of Kerry. We felt as though we were in our own castle. I would highly recommend!!

Summary: First off, Gerard went way above and beyond in dealing with us. There was a large group (11) of us and 4 of us were doing the Ironman. We had a ton of questions before we even arrived, and Gerard was always very quick and friendly with his replies. The house was perfect for us and everyone was very happy with our find. I would love to stay here again sometime when I have more time (and no Ironman to worry about). Thank you again!

Summary: The property was perfect for a family gathering of 17, 7 of whom were 10years old and younger. The exterior of the house is breathtaking, with many surprises, including a courtyard formed by old stone buildings. There was a terrace out front with a picnic table and fire pit, and another patio and picnic table out back. For the children, there was a play yard including a treehouse and swings, and a trampoline. Someone was there to meet us and show us about this extraordinary historical property, with spectacular views of the surrounding hills, fields and the river. Inside, in the huge old country kitchen, we were welcomed by several breakfast treats - bread, a coffee ring, sausage biscuits, and a fruit compote, as well as eggs, bacon and sausage in the refrigerator, so we wouldn’t have to shop for anything on the night of our arrival. There was ample bedroom space for all, as well as bathrooms to accommodate our large group. The living room and dining room had firewood and starter ready in the grates, and there was a bonus children’s play room. Although our WiFi was sometimes spotty, the owner, Gerard, went to great lengths to hook us up. We had a celebratory meal planned.Gerard put us in touch with a caterer well in advance of our trip, and the meal was spectacular. The house is beautifully, but practically furnished, so we weren’t tiptoeing around. We enjoyed meals both indoors and outdoors and were blessed with warm and mostly sunny weather. I had several concerns pulling this family vacation together, and Gerard was more than helpful in providing information about the property, as well as other activities and sites we might like, such as the Lismore Castle Easter Egg Hunt, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The pictures of the property on line cannot possibly do justice to how special it is. This was truly the vacation of a lifetime, and we all felt so fortunate to have experienced it.
