Positive: Our hosts were wonderful and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed (we stayed for 2 weeks). We loved the kitchen facilities, it had everything we could ever need. The location was great. We didn't have a car but the local buses came through Castletown several times a day. It was easy to get to John O'Groats, Dunnet Head, Thurso and Wick (If you go to Orkney on the early ferry, you'll need to walk from Thurso to Scabster). The central heating was great and we could adjust it down when needed. It was very comfortable, perfect for our needs and a home away from home.

Negative: Honestly, I cannot think of anything else we would have needed.

Summary: Wonderful hosts and a home away from home, plus lovely beaches and lighthouses nearby.

Positive: The owners greeted us upon arrival, lovely people. The house was comfortable and warm and extremely well kitted out. Lots to see and do in the general area.

Positive: Jan & Alan are excellent hosts who couldn't be more helpful. The cottage is warm and comfortable with lots of attention to detail. It is situated near to bus routes with good services to Thurso, Wick and Inverness. There are lovely walks from the cottage round Dunnet Bay with good birdwatching, even in the snow. A great find!

Positive: The location was fantastic for everything me and my partner wanted to do whether it be the northern lights which i got to see which the host was more than happy to help you find even sent me a message to tell me iwill add picture from dunnet head once I know how. i got to try the local distillery at wolfburn it was great. The cottage was fully equipped even down to tinfoil and cling film and olive oil. Very clean and tidy spare linen all in all very good place to stay.
