New gîte, suitable for 6 people, situated away from the village, overlooking the Romanesque church. Between land and sea, a few steps from the Canal du Midi, the city of Carcassonne, Cathar castles, Corbières and Minervois, beaches of Gruissan, Narbonne beach and Port La Nouvelle.
3 bedrooms 2 double beds and 2 single beds, 1 bathroom, separate toilet, living room opening onto a terrace and a bedroom on the other terrace, kitchen open to living room. Gite side by side with another without opposite direct.
For our friends, the gîte is not entirely fenced.

Summary: There are so many things we loved about the Gite. Firstly the House, It has 3 nice size bedrooms. all the with Linen provided. The doors (except the front) has Automatic shutters and insect screen, so it stays Dark and keeps the insects out. The House a single AC Unit which can cool the whole house (Leave the Bedroom doors open) The Bathroom has a lovely shower and pleanty of towels (Bring your own Beach towels) THe Kitchen has all mod cons. Microwave,Cooker,Fridge/freezer,toaster,coffee maker etc. Rosane left a welcome pack to get us going, Milk, Eggs bread, Butter etc There is a short walk to the tower in Escales from the Road facing the House The pool is wonderful to keep cool in. it's 6m x 4m x 1m Deep. in the first week it got upto 41 degrees. THank goodnees for the pool! Great location, just a short walk into the Village of Escalles if you need to pick up essentials like Milk bread Wine :). Also the Nearest large town of Lezignan Corbieres is only 5 miles away. It has several large supermarkets. Also if your heading to Carcassonne or Tolouse, it's worth Driving via Lezignan Corbieres & pick up the A61 Motorway west (toll road £2.10 to Carcassonne and £12.50 to Tolouse). It's pretty central location. Carcasonne(30 mins). Four towers of Lastours(40 mins). Aire de Repos de Cabrespine (Caves) 35 mins and 20 mins to La Livinière, which has a lovely resturant Les Meulieres All in all we had a wonderful holiday. Sean Harkin

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here, the gite has everything you need (good kitchen, TV, wifi, air con in the main living area). It's in the outskirts of the village so feels private. There is a footpath near the bottom of the garden but is not busy and the walk up to the tower is lovely anyway. Pool is as you see in the pictures - small but fine for cooling off. Rosane was really helpful - we changed our plans at the last minute because of awful weather in the Dordogne, so we sent the request to book on Wednesday evening, received a reply within an hour and arrived there the following day - a great service. There was a small extra payment to make (taxe de sejour and something to do with electricity which we hadn't seen properly on the website but Rosane had alerted us to this before confirming the booking so we were aware) but this was inexpensive. Overall excellent value and no hesitation about recommending it.
