Summary: GFM Hotel has a lot of potential considering its age. The front desk staff is very good. Our K-bedded room was furnished with antiquey pieces, some of which were much too big for the room, making it seem crowded. HVAC control was not typical, with no in-room instructions, so we had to ask front desk how it works. Bathroom was very clean, step-over tub/shower, linens were good. Breakfast was adequate, more like a typical mid-range chain hotel, not a "boutique" hotel. The restaurant which may be under independent management, is haphazard, trying too hard to be different.

Summary: The staff was super helpful and patient and kind. The hotel is beautiful and interesting and enjoyed staying in Downtown Marion where I met the proprietress of the Downtown Re-Sale Boutique and spent a lovely couple of hours visiting with her.
