Summary: This was the most restful and comfortable place to stay with quick and easy access to the North-Western part of the Lake District. It's much less crowded than Keswick or Windermere areas. A walk up the hill opposite the cottage brings you to Pardshaw Crags, takes all of three minutes and offers you a panoramic view of the mountains of the Western Lakes and all around. We will be coming to stay here again!

Summary: Thank you so much to Colin and Lesley for such a wonderful stay, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Garden cottage had all we could need, great kitchen, good stable internet, nice hot showers, comfort and charm throughout - so many personal touches and stories in the artwork and books. Colin and Lesley were marvellous, nothing was too much bother, he always went above and beyond for us. Colin is a fountain of knowledge and experience, we learned so much, and his recommendations made our trip! We'd have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. Ben and Ash.

Summary: Colin and Lelsey are realy fine hosts who liked to give answers on all our questions and offered their help when asked for. The Garden Cottage is not big but very convenient. We had a realy nice stay there. TV, Video Player with video's, radio, free internet via WiFi, a small but handy kitchen, shower, a large double bed, nicely decorated, ... ,even a washing machine. You have to do the dishes by hand, but just for 2 people it's done in a jiffy.

Summary: What a lovely place in a beautiful location, west side of the Lake District. All the home comforts you could need including reclining sofa and a washing machine! Clean, comfortable and warm with excellent wifi connection. Thank you to the friendly hosts Colin and Lesley who were to hand if anything was needed but who were not intrusive or interferring at all. Would definitely recommend this property and the area for anyone thinking of trying the lesser visited part of the beautiful Lakes. It's only a stone's throw away from Loweswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere.

Susanne M. Sep 4, 2023 01:52:54 AM
Summary: Lovely quiet place with a field up the crags for walking a dog (as there were no sheep in it at the time). Colin was extremely helpful in answering our question and even lending us a map to help us with walks in the area. Really could not have been more accommodating. While my 82 year old dad stayed in the Garden Cottage, Colin and Lesley let us stay in our VW camper on the drive so we could be near him.
