Positive: Excellent staff, a bit old facility but everything works/minimally viable. Value for money if your purpose is to sleep over a night or two. 20-30 mins walk to downtown. 3 am taxi service to airport was fast and affordable (30 bucks)

Negative: Again for the price you can’t expect Shangri la kind of experience but I would recommend the owners to have a remote bell at the reception to call the staff when needed. When I needed to talk there was no one nearby to ask. This also a bit worried me in terms of security because hostel door was open 24 hrs and after 6 pm no one was at the reception desk. In theory any stranger could break into one of the guest rooms and steal stuff etc (locks seemed easy to manipulate with). Another thing is taxi to airport. I think the driver is the owner’s son and a very kind guy who woke up at 2:30 am to take me to the airport. But I was surprised he insisted I don’t fasten the seat belt (have no idea why?!) given how crazy the traffic is in UB. I hope I misunderstood but I would suggest the owner makes sure people certainly fasten the seat belts.

Positive: Very friendly host. Speaks perfectly English. Very helpful. Good location,

Negative: The bathroom/shower was not very clean. All very basic. Everything is taped together. Foam wall panels to cover things. Electrical wires exposed. Wall sockets not covered, and fixed with 1 screw. During a rain shower the water was running from the ceiling. So I had to put a bucket to catch the water. Tour was terrible. Tourguide (his wife) didn’t speak 1 word of English. So it was a quiet tour. When I returned from the museum/statue she said “horse head”. Then I realize that you could go to the top/head of the horse. Why tell me when I return?? But not saying 1 word whenyou drip me?? Didn’t stick to the schedeule. Wanted me to buy some food at CU store (while Breakfast was included in the tour price) Her driving skilles were terrible. Soo dangerous. Driving in the middle of the road. Other cars were using their horn all the time, to warn her, and because they couldn’t pasd, but she just ignored. Driving streight towards a bus… if I didn’t warn her… I had a sign “ Do not disturb” on my door. But the cleaning lady opened my door, without even knocking… while I was on the bed. Unacceptable!

Positive: The Gur on the roof was nice. The manager was veryt layback and helpful even when we indicated that we might not stay there

Negative: The downstairs rooms which we booked but didn't stay in were not very nice. A bit out of town on a dirt road
