Positive: The room was lovely looking out over the stream into the autumn foliage. Ours meals were perfectly prepared and presented. The staff were helpful and welcoming.

Positive: This place was an amazing stop-over on our train journey from Kyoto to Sapporo. I think we were especially lucky being here on a Monday night as we were virtually the only people here! It meant that my son and I got the public onsen to ourselves which is superb (the outside area is right next to falling snow and a stream).

Negative: As non-Japanese speakers we were made to feel very welcome and the hosts were very accommodating. One thing I didn't realise was the remoteness and when we only opted in for breakfast, we didn't realise there were no other accessible dinner options nearby.

Summary: Highly recommended place to unwind, exceeded our expectations
