Positive: The hostess lady is from Taiwan and speaks Japanese and Mandarin, so that was very helpful for us. She was also very helpful providing information on the castle ruin and local attractions and restaurants. When we asked her if there was any place we could rent bikes to ride along the river, she offered her own bikes to us. We really loved staying here in Takeda. It's quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Everything we wanted in a small Japanese town experience.

Negative: This is not really a don’t like, but just letting others know be prepared not many restaurants around and they close early so I would make sure to have some food brought in with you. They do have a refrigerator.

Summary: I truly enjoyed my stay. I had the whole house to myself very quiet and beautiful. It was so majestic looking out my win

Positive: Great location close to the station and very easy to get around Takeda. Host was also very friendly. She helped me book the early morning transfer to Ritsuunkyo which was very helpful.

Negative: It's ok for an overnight stop especially if you're getting up early the next day but I personally wouldn't want to stay longer than that!

Positive: Host was very responsive, but despite the language barrier no issue working with her. I'd all this more of a guest house than a hostel. It's simple, clean and comfortable, and only 3 minute walk to the station. I used it for my day trip to Takeda Castle and she provided me maps and helpful information.

Negative: There is no lock or keys for any doors or rooms, or even the front door. I know Japan is safe, but felt weird leaving all my valuables in my room when the front door to the house was unlocked all day.
