Positive: Free snacks, hot water, tea. Friendly receptionist. Warm, well lit, cheerful interior. Fancy Japanese toilets!

Negative: Very small hostel rooms and common area so you might feel a bit hemmed in. A short but uphill walk to the ski and bus area.

Positive: Nancy was amazing and really made the stay. She genuinely cares about her guests and even helped me organise my trip to Nagano on my last day, which took a lot of stress off. The place is modern, clean, and well set up considering it’s a small renovated house with only around 10 guests. It has everything you need for a snow trip without any unnecessary fuss.

Negative: Nothing major at all. It’s a compact hostel, but that’s part of the charm and totally expected in Hakuba.

Summary: A friendly, comfortable base for snowboarding with a host who goes above and beyond.

Positive: The house is located just 6 min walking (in snowboard boots) to the Goryu slopes. The staff is amazing and they do everything to help you feel like home. The beds are comfortable and it is a silent place. I have stayed 4 nights and came back for 2 nights more. I will be back next season for sure. The shuttle service to and from the station is perfect for the ease of your travel.

Positive: Nancy the host was so kind, welcoming and very fun! A 10 min walk to Goryu Ski Lifts Night bus stop is next to Ramen shop 2 minute walk away Closest Konbini is 15 walk Bar Nabura and Bodega are close too for food and drink
