Positive: Me and my mum had a fantastic stay at Julie and Luli's place in Shkoder and felt right at home! Being low season, we were given a choice of room and stayed in their family room on the upper floor. Big, cosy room, comfortable beds and had an option to use the facilities on the top floor or at the bottom. We especially enjoyed hanging out in the top floor living room with great views over Shkoder to the mountains! The lovely husband and wife that run this place are what makes this place special. Julie is a fantastic cook and breakfasts were hearty, creative and different every morning (we often couldn't finish it, and had the leftovers for lunch!). Julie is a fellow vegetarian, so you can be sure that the veggie options are equally as tasty! And we definitely recommend ordering from her menu for dinner (the Crispy Chicken Rice and the Vegetarian Fried Rice were delicious). They are happy to help and chat as much or as little as you like. They looked after our luggage during our overnight in Theth and prepared us packed breakfasts. For our onward travel to Ulcinj, it turned out one of their neighbours is the bus driver. Luli arranged for us to put our suitcases on the bus early so we could just turn up at Rozafa Hotel leaving point later on. Friendship Dorms is in a quiet residential area at the bottom of the road from the Stadium. Close to markets, shops and starting the walk / bike ride to the castle or lake. It's also about 15 minutes from the centre and main roundabout to catch buses. So it's the perfect base for exploring Shkoder! We would definitely stay with Julie and Luli again, and are excited to see their accommodation and cooking business grow over time! All the best to them both :D

Negative: Their house and accommodation is a working progress and passion project. If you're expecting modern, fancy five star facilities - you're in the wrong place. But if you're looking for a budget friendly, homely place with great food and lovely hosts - you've hit the jackpot!

Positive: We felt like we were at home the second we arrived. We had both been unwell and Julie looked after us, making us herbal tea and checking that we were okay. The reason why we booked there is because we read all of the wonderful feedback from other guests. Julie and Luli are a lovely couple who go out of their way for guests to have a nice stay. And omg Julie's crispy chicken is to die for!!!!

Positive: I had a great time here. This couple is so lovely, so helpful and welcome. They give you everything you need to explore the area. The lake is very close and it is nice to rent a bike from the hostel a bike and go on a bike tour.
