Located conveniently on Governor's Drive in Vanderhorst Plantation between The Sanctuary Hotel and recreational offerings at East Beach and the famed Ocean Course, 281 Governors Drive is a freshly renovated five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 3,740-square-foot home is situated among exquisite live oaks and towering palms on a large corner homesite. The well-maintained landscape enhances the inviting front porch and cedar-clapboard exterior of the home, which boasts a traditional Southern-style facade. Property views extend across the lagoon waters to the 5th fairway of the Osprey Point Course - a perfect Kiawah Island and Lowcountry setting.
Gorgeous new interior furnishings give this home a light, airy, and coastal feel. The traditional floorplan includes a beautiful formal dining room and separate living room with built-in shelves, recessed lighting, a fireplace, and three sets of glass doors that allow bright natural light to flow inside. Two additional sliding glass doors, custom wood cabinets, and a center island are the focal points of the kitchen. The living spaces extend outside to the large screened porch and new Garapa deck that overlook the calm lagoon waters. Lush trees and foliage provide a peaceful and private exterior sanctuary. Pool with waterfall feature on the back deck with a great view, pool heat is $175 per day plus tax, four day minimum required.
The spacious master suite features a fireplace and sliding glass doors to a private balcony, multiple closets and a bathroom with dual vanities with granite countertops and tile flooring. A guest room on the first floor also has a set of glass doors to bring in natural light and offer access to the outdoor living spaces.
Upstairs, the second floor boasts a converted space with vaulted ceilings, one bedroom with a full bath plus a comfortable and quiet sitting room.

No smoking and no pets allowed. Please note the garage access is off limits to guest use.
When you stay with ESPM for 3-21 nights you will receive a valuable credit of up to $280 (amount dependent on length of stay) to use toward beach gear, bikes, etc. Credit may not be available for last minute bookings, 48 hours notice is required.

Summary: Not sure there are enough words to express how special this home AND location are. The home is STUNNING. The space for everyone is fantastic. The screened in porch was wonderful. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need and more! The beds were very comfortable. If you are debating heating the pool, just do it. It is VERY cold, if left unheated, as it is shaded. Some may love that, but it wasn’t extremely hot the week we were there and the pool was definitely too cold for our group. The bike rental and bike rides to the beach were so pleasant and fun. Renting chairs and umbrellas to be delivered to the beach is definitely the way to go! This was the best trip our family has ever taken, and a huge part of that was how incredible this location was.

Summary: We extended our stay at this lovely home that includes a screened back porch situated next to a small, wooded area which leads to a pond and in the near distance, a golf course. The porch extends across the back of the house so multiple guests can take advantage of the view. Kiawah has a few restaurant options, but if you're staying for more than a few days, you'll likely want to cook at home. This kitchen makes that easy because it is well-stocked with cooking and baking tools (not always the case in rentals). The main sitting area in the house had multiple, comfortable seating options. I'd stay here again.

The kitchen was a cook's dream and had every appliance and tool you could need for a gourmet meal. It would be helpful to have instructions for the cable TV system, the thermostat, the alarms for the patio doors and they are not intuitive to use. We would definitely rent this place again!
