Positive: Very professional and friendly staff. Young, nice and competent. Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. I did not have a view of the sea, but it doesn't really matter because there is plenty of common space outside. Breakfast buffet is very good. Dinner is really exceptional, it was one of the best meals we had in Iceland. Small menu, but excellent quality and huge portions. The location is very as a base to visit Western Iceland. Hotel is just above the sea, with great views from the dining room and terrace (when weather allows it...).

Summary: Great choice for a base to explore Western Iceland. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great restaurant

Positive: Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was excellent. We were blessed to see the Northern Lights put on a spectacular show right above the hotel during our one night stay. Breakfast was also delicious, and we had a beautiful view of the sun rising over the water from our breakfast table. Highly recommend staying at Fosshotel Hellnar.

Negative: Everything was great.

Summary: Comfortable bed, clean room, and the added bonus of a Northern Lights show - doesn't get better!

Positive: It's a really nice hotel and restaurant in the wilderness of the far west Snæfellsnes peninsula. The hotel has a great location for exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula from west to east as we did with my family after our stay. Breakfast was really good with everything you need for a great start of the day. There are some nice views and walking paths around the hotel for those not feeling sleepy in the arctic day.

Negative: Restaurant was closing a bit early for my standards, so we could not dine with my family as we arrived late.
