Positive: Good location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely grounds and areas for sitting and relaxing.

Negative: The room was too hot and there was no AC. It was quite uncomfortable during a period of excessively hot weather. There was a fan and one of the staff was really helpful finding an extra fan for us which was appreciated. However for the amount you are paying for a 4 star hotel which appears to be luxurious from the information online you would expect a bit more upgrading to include AC. The rooms appeared a bit old and could do with a bit of modernisation.

Negative: We booked breakfast included but this was only a continental breakfast of which there was a poor choice. It says the hotel is dog friendly but it doesn’t feel that way.

Summary: Great location but not great value for money, if I paid half the amount I would have been very happy

Positive: Good location close to the centre of Lyndhurst and other areas of the New Forest. Swimming pool was clean and the children had a great time.

Negative: A continental breakfast was included in our package but you had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. The continental breakfast options were very limited. The bedroom was clean and tidy but the carpets need updating and my son said the mattress on the bunk bed was uncomfortable. Hotel price was expensive for 1 night’s stay.
