Positive: The apartment is completely new, equipped with everything needed even for a longer stay, including a washing machine and a comfortable mattress. It is spotlessly clean. It is in a good location for exploring this part of the island, since the most beautiful beaches in the south (Preveli, Triopetra, Kalypso, and many others) are 30 minutes away, Rethymno is 40 minutes away, and the Moni Arkadi Monastery is 50 minutes away. The town of Spili itself is very charming, with high-quality spring water in the center, tavernas, and shops offering local high-quality products (soaps, honey, olive oil, herbs). What I especially loved was the sweet host, who was very friendly and kind – we had a really nice connection and felt the true Greek motherly hospitality.

Negative: We loved everything.

Positive: This place is beautiful and spacious! Owners are kind are gracious, brought me local food specialties and wine. It was a wonderful place to spend many days and enjoy quiet time in the home. The bed is quite comfortable and lovely shower. Kitchen is well stocked and enjoyed getting to watch Netflix amidst weeks of travel. I highly recommend Fontana Leone!

Positive: Very comfortable apartment in a good location. Everything we needed within a few minutes walk. Roadside parking just outside. Friendly village with some excellent tavernas. Surrounded by magnificent scenery. A great base for exploring the area.

Negative: Cooking facilities good for preparing breakfast and snacks, but a little limited if you plan to fully self-cater. A lockbox for the key would make self check-in and check-out more straight forward.
