Positive: Everything and I mean everything was provided. From breakfast to milk, even beer and wine (payable obviously) Sassenheim is a 5 minute walk away, a nice town. The owner was especially friendly, a genuinely friendly person
Negative: A little noisy due to busy road, but very soon got used to it.

Positive: Rene gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and showed us around the accommodation. Although self catering a very generous breakfast was included. The rooms were comfortable and warm and offered all we needed for our two night stay. The purpose of our visit was to visit Keukenhof Gardens and this was an ideal location being about a 10 minute drive away.
Negative: The property is alongside a road which was probably busier than we expected and there was some traffic noise. Not really a major issue, just something to be aware of.
Summary: An excellent base to explore the Tulip fields.

Positive: René took us in and treated us like family. We booked on the the day of the flower parade, and it ran right in front of his house. He threw a big party with family and friends and invited us to join him. He fed us, gave us wine, and made us feel right at home. He and his daughter Fleur were kind, commutative, and the warmest people you will ever meet. I could have stayed in a shoebox and been just as happy with these people. But their apartment was delightful as well- clean, well-equipped, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the water hot and strong, and we got so much food and homemade treats for breakfast each day that we had enough to pack a nice lunch to bring on the bikes for a picnic.
Negative: YES. We wanted to put this little family in our pockets and take them with us, but we couldn’t. It‘s not often in life that you meet such open and friendly people. We were the lucky ones to experience a little slice of heaven in these challenging times.

Positive: Fleur was an excellent host who was available and helpful. The facilities were exactly what we expected. A large living/dining area, well stocked kitchen with good appliances and a bedroom with good storage and a comfortable bed.
