Positive: Stunning location in front of the fjord. I was given a room in the historic hostel and it was such a lovely house. The kitchen is well-equipped. The staff were very kind with me and very attentive. The food in the restaurant is amazing! Highly recommended for a couple of days (or more) to relax and hike around.

Negative: The room was a bit too far from reception and there was no wifi. But overall it was a great experience.

Positive: Beautiful views, sleeping next to the waterfall, between the fjords, just, amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful

Negative: As with most things in Norway, prices are high for everything 😄 felt like bit more high here, probably because of the remoteness of the place.

Positive: Lovely two hosts and fab dinners each nite. Feels like you are away from the main world, just a boat in or out. Great hike up the 4444 steps and fab route down

Negative: To no fault of the hosts but noisy 50 year olds up until 1am drinking and no consideration for the rest of the guys. 2nd night no issues. Needs signs for quite time after 9pm as often 7am start for most here for the early boat

Positive: The location is absolutely stunning — breathtaking views and an incredible sense of peace and quiet. The surrounding nature is amazing: a waterfall, a fjord, forest, and mountains are all nearby. There’s also a small shop within walking distance (with limited opening hours), but the staff there are exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

Negative: The bathroom and shower facilities were quite old — not dirty, but definitely in need of renovation. There was hot water with good pressure, but the water itself was a bit unclear.

Positive: Super friendly host at the camping with flexible check-out time from the tent we have rented. The tent came with very comfy mattresses and was super clean. Even though the coffee shop won't open on the morning, we have bought the evening before a really clever and tasty coffee bag in the shop. Highly recommended to try.

Positive: The view of the Lysefjord from the kitchen and living/dining room is stunning. The reception staff was very helpful and quickly fixed the oven when we reported the issue.

Negative: There was no microwave, and unfortunately, the apartment 9A on the second floor had bed bugs. We had to dispose of some bedsheets and clothes to make sure we didn’t bring any back home.

Summary: There were bed bugs in apartment 9A on the second floor. The beds should be replaced. Something must be done.

Positive: It’s a beautiful place to enjoy. Even though it was a rainy day it was still beautiful to enjoy. The hospitality Hessel showed was very warming and made us feel at home.
