Summary: Beautiful family getaway cabin, close to town but private area that was quiet. Bunk room worked well for the kids and each adult enjoyed their separate spaces. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings made our stay enjoyable.

Summary: It was very hot. No air conditioning but lots of fans and we brought a couple as well. We still had a good time. Ventured out a little and drove to Twain Harte to the community pool for some swimming and some mini golf and shaved ice. The boys did a little fishing at the pond. My son caught one the first night there. Saw a couple deer too.

Summary: Upon arrival, we had to clean the deck and wash down the outdoor table. Because there is no a/c we opened windows to cool the house. Some windows didn’t open or needed screens replaced. We had to add and/or replace light bulbs. Several of the deck seating options were broken. The weeds in the backyard were a foot high. We brought rubber 2 person boats but deemed the dock not a safe place to launch from due to poking branches, etc. surrounding it. It just wasn’t what we were used to from VRBO. We were able to fish from the dock where the children learned to cast their lines.

Summary: We had a wonderful vacation at the beautiful home by the pond. We like the woodsy decor. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortableple. There were plenty of blankets and towels for the whole week. The TV got movies on our Netflix and Disney Plus accounts. We played some of the games at night. We took walks around the neighborhood and borrowed two books from the “Free Book Exchange Box.” Some of our family paddled around the pond in our paddle boat and kayak. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking at the view of the pond with the geese and nice sunsets. There were lots of things to do nearby. We went to the moaning Caverns, but our group was too tired to go to the Calif. Caverns. (We should have gone there first.) The next day we went to Columbia State Park and road the stagecoach and drank Sarsaparillas and ate candy. On the stagecoach we sang songs. We enjoyed watching “The Little Mermaid” that was playing live at the Fallon House Theater in Columbia. The tickets are with Sierra Rep. It was terrific! We stopped at the Frosty shop for lunch and milkshakes during the week. On the third day, we rented a pontoon boat on New Melonies and waterskied, tubbed and fished. We counted 14 deer at the lake and along the road. We went to the Regal Theater in Sanora and saw “Top Gun-Maverik” and “Jurassic World” in the evenings. We also went bowling twice at the Black Oak Cassino. On the last day we went to Railtown and Jamestown and took the tour. (The train only runs on the weekends.) My family told me that I wore them out and they didn’t get to relax much. They really had a great time. We have been taking a week vacation together for 28 years and I think it was our best vacation. Thank you so much!

Summary: This property was clean and provided many bedrooms for our large family. Two bathrooms was a little challenging for lots of people at times. Some of the furniture was dated and needed some refurbishing, but for the price, provided well for our large crew.
