Positive: I give this accommodation a solid eight—almost a nine—because there is practically nothing wrong with it, except for the bed. Mr. Karl is an incredibly friendly and energetic older gentleman; although he speaks virtually no English and we don't speak German, we managed to sort everything out regardless. The apartment is on the ground floor of a house where a family lives upstairs. The house is situated in a small village in an exceptionally quiet location, and the apartment faces the garden, offering nothing but nature and tranquility. It was clean and fully equipped for a longer stay. However, I don't think there are any shops in the village, let alone restaurants, so a car is absolutely essential.
Negative: Setting aside the fact that the mattress isn't particularly soft, the bed's biggest issue is that it is extremely low (exactly 35 cm off the ground), making it very uncomfortable to get in and out of. This likely isn't an issue for young people, but for those who are older or elderly, it poses a serious problem. Another point is that the apartment is kept free of strong fragrances and perfumes; upon arrival, guests are asked not to use deodorants or perfumes indoors. Consequently, we had to apply deodorant outside the front door in the morning—which wasn't a problem since the weather was mild, though I’m not sure how that would work in the cold. Blackout curtains on the windows and doors wouldn't go amiss either, as it gets quite bright in the morning. So, there is still room for improvement here to reach a perfect score.
