Positive: I was pleasantly surprised by this place. it was even better than I expected! The apartment is just a 6-minute walk from the train station, in a very quiet area, although to be honest, the whole town of Appenzell is quiet and lovely. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and I was especially happy to find the little sweet treats waiting for me, such a thoughtful touch! I’m also very grateful for the tourist card, which made it possible for me to explore the whole region and learn so much about the region. The interior was clearly designed quite some time ago, but everything is very well maintained - the furniture and walls are in perfect condition. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and the coffee machine with capsules was definitely one of my favourite things! Bruno and his family are wonderful people who really respect your privacy. Even though the apartment is in the same house where the family lives, communication was easy and minimal, while I was happy to have a chat with Bruno whenever he had some free time. I would honestly call this one of the most warm, welcoming and charming Booking.com stays I’ve had in all my travels. I would absolutely recommend it!

Positive: Bruno, our host, was warm and welcoming. He provided sample items of produce from Appenzell for us. This was a delightful surprise. There was great on-site parking. The accommodation was within walking distance of the village centre, local sites, shopping and eateries. The location provided us with a fantastic base to explore further afield. While staying in Appenzell we did day trips to Ebenalp, St Gallen and Stein am Rhine. All were very manageable. The property had a lovely outdoor area with hammocks and a covered BBQ area available to guests. The self-contained apartment was well set up for a very comfortable stay. There was a coffee pod machine with pods supplied and all cooking accessories needed to eat in, if you wished to.
Negative: Next visit we would stay longer in this beautiful part of the world. This time we only had a few days which was not nearly long enough!

Positive: Location, location, location!! The views were simply sensational with a deck to enjoy them with table and chairs. No need to rush off anywhere. Parking on site. Views from every room. Fans available for warm weather were really appreciated. Coffee pods and orange juice provided and some Swiss Chocolates.
Negative: No working, hygienic plug for kitchen sink. Dishwasher didn’t seem able to complete its cycle. Had to remove draw under the fridge that prevented the fridge from opening and closing easily.
Summary: Would definitely stay here again. Pietro was very welcoming and communication was excellent.

Positive: It was very clean and comfortable. Spacious and private with own entrance. Neat little kitchenette and a table for dining at. Lovely to find a coffee machine and good supply of capsules. Hosts were really friendly and helpful. I loved it. Great location too.
